About Marathon
Marathon is Bungie's sci-fi extraction shooter and a revival of the studio's 1990s Marathon series, from the team behind Halo and Destiny. Players are Runners, cybernetic mercenaries who drop onto Tau Ceti IV, a lost human colony overrun by rival crews, hostile security forces and stranger things.
You scavenge alone or with a crew of three, fight other Runners and AI enemies for loot and intel, and then fight your way to an exfil point. Make it out and your haul goes into your vault; die and you lose what you brought in. Each Runner shell has its own abilities, weapons are fully moddable, and contracts from factions earn rewards that make your next run stronger. Marathon launched in March 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with cross-play.
