About Deadlock
Deadlock is Valve's third-person shooter MOBA, set in an alternate 20th-century New York full of urban fantasy and the occult. Two teams of six heroes fight as part of a ritual war, pushing lanes of troopers and destroying the defenses that guard the enemy team's Patron.
It combines shooter gunplay with MOBA depth: you earn souls by killing troopers and players, spend them on items that reshape your hero, and move around the city using ziplines, wall jumps and dashes. Deadlock has no release date and is still an invite-only beta that Valve calls early development, but invites are easy to come by and it has become one of the most played games on Steam, passing 260,000 concurrent players in October 2026.
