Allods Online is a revolutionary massively multiplayer RPG from Gala-Net, the publisher of Flyff and Rappelz, and Astrum Nival, the developer of Heroes of Might & Magic V and Rage of Mages. The largest game development project in Russian history at $12 million, Allods features state of the art graphics by top award-winning artists and a cinematic soundtrack by Mark Morgan (Dexter, Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment). The game is one of the largest and most comprehensive MMORPGs ever created. It features a vast and gorgeously realized world and flying Astral ships which can be crewed by multiple players to discover new allods and pillage other Astral travelers. Allods also won the Best Game 2009 and Audience Choice awards from the Russian Game Developers Conference.

The game features an unprecedented level of detail for an MMORPG with 2 warring factions, 6 races, 8 archetypes, 28 classes, hundreds of skills, and over 2,000 quests. Its visuals were designed by artists who won the 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 10th place awards at Dominance War, one of the most prestigious global art competitions, in both the 2D and 3D categories. All of the animations are motion captured, and the Allods Online 3D game engine was developed entirely in-house. The orchestral soundtrack, composed by Mark Morgan and rising star Vladislav Isaev, was inspired by classical, electronica, new age, and tribal musical genres. An immense amount of content is featured in the game such as raids, dungeons, pets, balanced PvP, a crafting system designed as mini-games, dozens of zones to explore, and numerous other features. The story spans a series of games published over 11 years beginning with Rage of Mages, and it features a background history remarkable in its complexity and depth.

Was a very good game, was being the relevant term there. New update has made it unofficially pay to play or at the very least pay to win. To prevent the new Death Penalty from inverting the stats on your better armor/weapons/accessories you must buy charms from the cash shop, one charm used per death. If you have a cursed item, either from dying (PvP/PvE or death by game bug/glitch) or from a mob/chest drop you must use a scroll from the cash shop to remove the curse. Mob hp and damage has been increased, not a bad thing except player damage has been more than halved. To get your damage back up to what it was pre-update you must buy another cash shop only item, Incense (once given in quests in game). The change in both the death penalty system and the damage has pretty much caused PvP to dry up. Changes in the party system preventing you from doing repeatable quests in party, making drops for one player only, making kill credit proximity related, have pretty much killed parties and raids. Entire guilds are disbanding and leaving the game. It is sad to see a really good game destroy itself in so unpleasant a manner.
